Joss Stone Returns to Road

By Randy J. Klodz

As a star, teenaged singer in her native UK, Joss Stone spread her wings in 2004 and became an instant hit in the United States. Two albums, and a Grammy win, later, Joss Stone has the chops to play to sold-out crowds nationwide. Now on tour in support of her third full-length release, Joss Stone will perform at House of Blues on May 30.

“Introducing Joss Stone” hit stores March 12 and anticipation for the album start off high right out of the gates as it shot up to No. 2 on Billboard’s famed Top 200 chart.

Stone attracted the eyes and ears of U.S. fans in 2004 with “Fell in Love with a Boy,” her soulful and playful rendition of The White Stripes’ smash hit “Fell in Love with a Girl.”

Other Joss Stone songs like “Don’t Cha Wanna Ride” and “Spoiled” have drawn the attention of radio and media outlets worldwide.

From “Introducing Joss Stone” fans have gravitated toward the short, but catchy “Tell Me ’Bout It.” The album as whole, with its pop, R&B and hip-hop feel, and guest appearances by music industry heavyweights as Chicago-native Common and the ever popular Lauryn Hill, is sure to be enjoyed by a vast spectrum of music fans.

House of Blues is at 329 N. Dearborn St. Tickets for this all-ages show are listed for $36 each with showtime slated for 6:30 p.m. For more info on Joss Stone log on to www.jossstone.com.
