Schaumburg Flyers End Summer with Family Fun

By Randy J. Klodz

Canít get tickets to the Chicago White Sox this weekend? Why not check out the Schaumburg Flyers at beautiful Alexian Field for the teamís final homestand of the 2005 season?

The Schaumburg Flyers—an independent, professional minor league team based in Schaumburg, a northwestern suburb of Chicago—wrap up the 2005 season with a three-game series against the St. Paul Saints Sept. 2 until Sept. 4.

A ballgame at Alexian Field is a family event in that a trip for the whole family will cost less than it will at a major league facility. Single game ticket prices include: $10.50 for reserved club level seating; $9.50 for reserved seating; and $5.50 for lawn or bleacher seating. For those fans opting for the spacious, beautiful lawn seating, feel free to bring a blanket or towel to sit on.

Children and adults will enjoy the enthusiasm of Bearon, the baron-like, bear mascot of the Schaumburg Flyers. Fans can also appreciate the inning-change entertainment that often includes promotional giveaways, fan interaction, or various sponsored events such as character races.

Also, fans attending the Schaumburg Flyers game on Saturday, Sept. 3 will enjoy postgame fireworks, weather permitting. Best of all ample, free on-site parking surrounds Alexian Field. Alexian Field is also easily accessible by Metra. Be sure to check schedules for proper dates, times, and lines.

Schaumburg Flyers players such as Justin Hendrickson, Josue Lopez, and Nigel Thatch, who many fans may know as ďLeonĒ from the popular Budweiser advertisements, are hungry for big league action. Donít miss your chance to see exiting Schaumburg Flyers baseball.

Alexian Field is at 1999 Springinsguth Rd. in suburban Schaumburg, Ill. For more information on the Schaumburg Flyers log on to www.flyersbaseball.com or contact them directly at 847-891-2255.
