Sevendust to Show Chicago Area What’s “Next”

By Randy J. Klodz

With a new album, hard-rock band Sevendust will return to the Chicago area to display its ferocious live show. Sevendust will invade The Pearl Room in suburban Mokena, Illinois, on Feb. 10.

Sevendust—which includes Lajon Witherspoon (vocals), John Connolly and Sonny Mayo (guitars), Vinnie Hornsby (bass) and Morgan Rose (drums)—is on tour in support of its latest release, “Next,” which hit stores in October, and features the hard-hitting single “Ugly.”

Fans of the 2005 blockbuster thriller “Saw II” will recognize the single “Pieces,” which not only appears on the “Saw II” movie soundtrack, but also appears on “Next.”

The track “Hero” starts “Next” with a bang and other tracks like “Desertion,” “Failure” and “The Last Song” leave a hard-rocking last impression. The album’s closing track “Shadows in Red” displays an acoustic side to Sevendust.

Over the course of Sevendust’s now sturdy career, the Atlanta-native rock band has hit rock radio with a slew of hits like “Black,” “Denial,” “Too Close to Hate,” “Waffle,” and several others.

The Pearl Room is based in Mokena at 19081 Old LaGrange Rd. Tickets for this all-ages show are listed for $20 each with showtime scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Rock bands Nonpoint and Socialburn are also scheduled to perform. For more info on Sevendust log on to www.sevendust.info.
